| Since the last time i had rode down at Hook Woods which was quiet
a while ago i remember there not being So many rocks, as you came
through the entrance to the car park you're greeted by The sight
of about twenty-tons of boulders scattered everywhere in every nook
and Cranny, some boulders the size of small cars, Looked like someone
had just bombed the place. Apparently this land now belongs to Sam
Conners old man so you see why the land has taken a major transformation..
The first section of the day was right In the starting area
which was the first of the rock sections, not a hard section But
easy to get caught out if you were napping. Section 2 was another
rocky one with quiet a long Winding route through the rocks dropping
down to the bottom and back up over various Large and small boulders,
the bottom bend catching out most riders. Section 3 fairly straight
Forward dropping down into some muddy stream over some rocks and
logs then up the opposite Bank and out. Section 4 was a little
more difficult with having to negotiate a fairly large Rock step
then turn sharp left as you reach the top then round and out over
another large rock. The white route was even harder with not many
riders managing to get through, they had to ride over A very tricky
huge double rock step.every rider i watched couldn't make it over
the second step It had to be ridden quiet fast on the back wheel
keeping the front wheel in the air, well that's What i would have
done"in my dreams"...The only rider who had a half-decent crack
was Jamie Burroughs Who almost made it over but it all went the
way of the pear…
Section five and six were quite easy but good old me went
the wrong bloody way on the first lap on section six making the
route harder and the marshal still fived me.this was much to the
amusement of Dave Burroughs who had earlier on section two gone
the wrong way due to badly placed cards then went the wrong way
on the next section what a day he was having.Seven to thirteen
were in the woods not to hard but quiet slippery on the first
couple of sections eight being quiet tricky if you didn't get
the approach right over the small but slippery brick wall it could
have all gone Pete tong.Amazing how good the Entrie was on the
day ,there was only about sixty riders in the program and over
thirty entered on the day which did make sections queue a bit
but all in all it was a really good trial on a great piece of
land.Myself Gary and Cliff all had a great day bouncing on and
off the rocks "well cliff falling off". and we would like to thank
the Thames mcc for a great trial thankyou,we will be back next
year.
Right now i should be practicing for the Kent & Sussex team
trial with Gary and Lukey one lap because we are gonna woop everybody
"hopefully"ha ha he he.
See you there.
